Open season on black men

Hard on the heels of the murder of Oscar Grant in Oakland, shot while lying face down on the ground by a policeman standing over him, comes the New Orleans murder of Adolph Grimes, shot 14 times, including 12 in the back. Actually he was hit 14 times. Not quite matching the 50 shots fired at Sean Bell and his companions, but well over the 41 shots fired at Amadou Diallo and made famous by Bruce Springsteen, the nine plainclothes officers who surrounded Grimes car at 3 a.m. where he was sitting, waiting for his cousin, fired a total of 48 shots at Grimes. Unlike Bell and Diallo, Grimes did have a gun, plus there's no video of the event, making his family's chance at getting justice as close to nil as possible.
