Quote of the Day
I can't find it online, but on Democracy Now! this morning, someone quoted the President of the Steelworkers Union (I believe) saying:
"If you take a shower before you go to work, the government's got money to help you out. If you take a shower after you come home from work, they don't."Of course it's not literally true - there are plenty of people, be they computer programmers or teachers or bank tellers, who don't get sweaty or dirty while working and who may well take a shower before they go to work, but who are still very much part of the working class. Nevertheless, it's a nice way to sum up the very real, ongoing class war in the United States (and capitalist countries in general).
