The other war drags on
In case you've forgotten, although I doubt you have, the United States invaded Afghanistan and overthrew its government in late 2001, a year and a half before the invasion of Iraq. And when will that occupation end? Not soon:
The Afghan Army and police forces should be able to secure most of Afghanistan by 2011, allowing international forces to start withdrawing, the American commander of the NATO-led force in Afghanistan, Gen. Dan K. McNeill, said Sunday.All he predicts is that forces will "start" withdrawing in three years, and even that prediction I think we're safe in characterizing with the old line, "If you believe that I've got a bridge to sell you."
