Cuban "imperialism"

Since the Washington Post thinks Hugo Chavez is an "imperialist," and since we all know that Chavez aspires to be another Fidel Castro, Cuba must really be an imperialist power. Here's a little of that "Cuban-Venezuelan imperialism" at work:

Cuba restores sight to nearly a quarter million Latin Americans:

The number of Latin Americans who have had their vision restored since the start of the Cuban Operation Miracle program nearly two years ago is approaching a quarter million. Through this joint program with Venezuela, low-income people of the region are undergoing surgery free of charge along with all required medicines before, during, and after the procedure.
Cuban medical contingent comes to aid of earthquake victims in Indonesia:
Cuban Foreign Minister Felipe Perez Roque was at the Solo city airport on the Indonesian island of Java to receive a contingent from Cuba’s Henry Reeve Medical Brigade, which arrived to lend its services to thousands of victims after a devastating earthquake a week earlier killed more than 6,000 people and left tens of thousands injured.

The contingent’s 135 health professionals, including specialized doctors and hospital staff, arrived on June 3 at 1:55 pm local time after flying the 22,000 kilometers that separate Havana and Java.

Ninety-six members of the contingent had just returned home after completing a successful mission in the Republic of Pakistan after the latter was shaken by an earthquake on October 8 last year.
